In a year of much loving from press and fans alike, Joan Wasser, better known as Joan As Policewoman will release the follow up to 2006's Real Life. The album, to be called To Survive, was written in the shadows of her mother's battle with terminal cancer last year. Everything except her voice and piano playing have been stripped back: "I've become obsessed with taking stuff out, leaving only the most potent elements in place", says Wasser. The album will land 10th July via Cheap Lullaby, the same folks who brought us Real Life. The first single to be taken from the album 'To Be Loved' is currently streaming on her myspace. Wasser is playing two shows over the next couple of months, the first London show sold out in one night.
